My computer has died.
I've known for awhile that it was nearing its end, but I didn't think it would happen this soon.
What's even worse than my computer dying is that I was working on pictures from a wedding, a 50th wedding anniversary party, and a proposal. *sad face*

But on a good note, tomorrow is the 4th of July and I don't have to work :D

Saturday happenings

My 15 pg research paper is finished!!!!
words cannot express my joy right now :)
I never again want to have to do another paper...well, at least until next semester :P

Now on to studying for my finals and at some point I've got to go shopping for scrubs for my new job.....which I start Monday!!!
I may be just a bit nervous and excited.....

Also, I am now apart of the facebook world again. Mainly so I can promote my photography page which ya'll should go check  out if you're on facebook too.

my sweet boyfriends 22nd birthday was yesterday and we are doing a birthday dinner tomorrow night for him with some friends and family. I'm super excited because I'm making him something special...
I so very hope it turns out ok and he loves it. He loves pecan pie, so when I found this on pinterest I knew I had to make it for him.
wish me luck!!!!!

My mom made lemonade from my lemons :)

I dislike it when the stress of life finds its way into my sleeping habits and causes me to get less than four hours of sleep.
Needless to say, last night was not on my list of nights that I had a good nights sleep.

I'm also trying to write a 15 page Psychology paper for part of my final and I've hit a block...on page 7.
*shakes head*

But thankfully my mom knows how to cheer me up & she bought me a little rascals DVD that has all the episodes that we used to watch as little kids on VHS. :D
So as instructed, I am giving my brain a rest and I am watching the Little Rascals right now instead of finishing my paper ;)

Guess what

I have a new job!!!!
My last day at the preschool is the 25th....and then I'll start at the Callahan Eye Foundation on the 30th :)
The only thing I'm not excited about is having to drive to downtown Birmingham every day :P
I'm gonna miss my kids though....
My handsome Lucas said my name today :)

Josh took me out Friday night. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen at the Summit and then went to the movies...all courtesy of one of his sweet patients that gave him a giftcard to the Summit as a early birthday present :)
*the patient was the first quarterback for Bear Bryant when he coached for Alabama. Josh said he had some pretty cool stories to tell

anyways. Time for bed.

$12 well spent

I just finished watching Temple Grandin.

If you have never seen it, I suggest going to Walmart and getting it. It will be a well spent $12 :)
Clair Danes does an exceptional job playing Temple Grandin, who is an autistic girl who ends up becoming a college professor.
It's a true story & the real Temple Grandin has written a few books and I fully plan on reading them asap!

On another note, I have a turtle....

meet Dash
Timothy found him in the front yard a few weeks ago :)

Daily Reminders

"All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever."  -1 Peter 1:24-25

"And he who was seated on the throne said, behold, I am making all things new. Also he said, write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true. And he said to me, it is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son." -Revelation 21:5-7

I try to write a card to at least one person in need from church per week, and while searching for scriptures meant to encourage someone who recently lost her dad, I came across these...and they stuck. I read them every morning and every night.

Josh asked me yesterday if I was afraid to die.
My answer? yeah. slightly.
I'm afraid of pain cause I'm a slight wimp.
But I know where I'm going when I die so that makes me look forward to it in a way.
I just would like to achieve a few things in life if God allows it :)

note to self: grow up.

It's so very hard to have things weighing heavily on your heart 24/7 and not be able to talk about it.
i'm so tired of it.
Know what else I'm tired of?
people assuming things without actually talking to the people its about to get the truth and then going and gossiping to whoever will listen.
people who manipulate others for the fun of it.
family who turns their back on you at the first sign of trouble.

Anyways. this post is about today. Wednesday.
I almost didn't go to bible class tonight. I was tired after working an 11 hr day. I smelt like poop, throw up, sweat, and anything else that a daycare might smell like.
It would have been so easy to just stay home. But I always told myself that it's especially important to go to worship even on the days that I don't feel like it.
I'm glad I went. It was our prayer meeting night where all we do is pray and sing songs.
Each prayer was devoted it a certian blessing that we have as a child of God.

It was that kick in the hineybutt that I needed.

Even though I feel so so very emotionally and physically tired from all the garbage going on, and I feel like things keep being heaped on us to make things worse, I do have many blessings in life and I need to focus on those things more.

its one of those days I have to tell myself to grow up and stop acting so defenseless.
I have an amazing heavenly Father who is there for me and always will be even when others aren't.

I need to start blogging more.
it's a good venting outlet :)
